About Us

Increasing awareness of ABI

The Toronto ABI Network plays an essential role as a collective voice for people living with ABI.  We advocate on their behalf for accessible, high quality, publicly-funded services.  We also look for opportunities to partner with other sectors and to build the profile of ABI among policy-makers by identifying shared priorities.

Recently, The Toronto ABI Network developed a brief ABI guide to assist Ontario Health Teams in caring for individuals with brain injury, mental health and addiction—which are often interrelated. The guide provides practical recommendations and resources for OHTs on how to improve screening for ABI, accommodate the needs of people with ABI when addressing mental health and addiction issues and provide integrated care across the continuum.
